This review is from: Transcend 8 GB Compact Flash Card 600X TS8GCF600 (Yellow) (Personal Computers) I've had this card since June 2010 and I absolutely love it! I've used it on my old Nikon D700 and my Canon 5DMKII with no issues at all. I'm a professional wedding and portrait photographer so I'm actively shooting all the time. Its fast (keeps up with my shooting speed), big (8gb is plenty big for a memory card, no need for a 16gb+ unless you do a ton of video work with a DSLR), and cheap. For this price the quality should be much lower, but its not!Use it with a firewire reader like the Lexar Professional Firewire 800 CF Reader to really get the most out of it. I can download a full card of RAW files (24mb + per file on a 5DMKII) in less than 5 minutes! Just make sure you have a Firewire 800 port if you're using a PC, pretty much all macs come with an 800 port built in. Buy as many as you need NOW! You wont find a better deal than this! 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Transcend 8 GB Compact Flash Card 600X TS8GCF600 (Yellow) (Personal Computers) I bought this to go with my Canon 7D. This is well beyond fast enough for the 7D's 8 frames per second in JPEG shooting mode. It takes the JPEG buffer 500+ pictures at 8 frames a second to fill up. Once it's filled it takes about 3 seconds to clear the buffer, allowing you to shoot again. Shooting in RAW format, this card is still remarkably good. The buffer fills up much faster while shooting RAW - in about only 15 shots. Then, continues to shoot 2-3 frames a second until you allow the camera to write the photos in the buffer. Still remarkable! This is definitely an awesome card and well worth the money. On the 7D, the 8GB capacity holds about 1000 18MP photos, or 250 RAW photos. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful Amazon Verified Purchase( What's this?) This review is from: Transcend 8 GB Compact Flash Card 600X TS8GCF600 (Yellow) (Personal Computers) Moving up from Transcend 133x card, this cf card was like having my camera on steroids.I was choosing between this card and the ones from Sandisk. Originally, I was going to get the Sandisk Extreme Pro card, but since SD doesn't carry 8gb version of the Extreme Pro, I went with Transcend. The read/write speed is amazingly fast and I have no complaints in this regard. Better still, the 16gb model is cheaper than its Sandisk competitor (Extreme Pro). I have found this reliable for the most part, and I say MOST part, because sometimes (once in every fifty or so times I turn the camera on), it will display "card error" on the LCD. I simply turn the camera off, take the card out, put it back in, and when I turn the camera back on, it's perfectly fixed. Thus, my real score is 4.5 stars, but since I can't do that, the 5 stars is simply a rounded off score. |
